The North American Baptist Fellowship joins those across the United States and around the world in prayer for peace and justice in Washington, D.C. We condemn the violence, especially when done with Christan symbols and messages. We support democracy, which includes peaceful protest but not a lawless attempt to overturn a free and fair election. We call on clergy and faith leaders to speak out, not just in leading people to pray but also to condemn all that in word and deed supported this disgraceful attack. As our Lord taught us, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

Rev. Jeremy Bell, General Secretary of the NABF
