Mission and Purpose
Inspired by the great cloud of witnesses in Hebrews 11 and sharing in Jesus’s high priestly prayer for the church, this Scholars Collaboration of the North American Baptist Fellowship seeks the wholeness and health of Baptist denominations, institutions, networks, and congregations in North America.
Our constant prayer is to be open to the leading of the Spirit in the world, urging us to use the gifts of ministry, scholarship, and teaching to challenge complacency and facilitate mutual listening and learning, to witness to the truth of the gospel, to awaken new leaders for the church, and to pursue reconciliation marked by justice.
Our group is facilitated by Dr. Derek Hatch, the Endowed Chair of Baptist Studies at Georgetown College, where he is also Professor of Religion.
