North American Baptist Fellowship’s General Secretary Rev. Jeremy Bell announced his retirement shortly following the BWA Executive meetings this past spring, effective May 31, 2024.

Rev. Bell shares:

Rev. Jeremy Bell

NABF General Secretary Rev. Jeremy Bell will retire May 31, 2024

“It has been both a privilege and a joy to serve as the General Secretary of the NABF for these past 6 years. I am deeply grateful for the work and support of the NABF Executive, and for the leadership of Rev. Dr. Samuel C. Tolbert Jr., who served as NABF President during the majority of my tenure, and current President Rev. Emmett Dunn.

The work and ministry of NABF member bodies acting across the United States and Canada comprises one of the most significant and broad-reaching networks and ministry of any faith body in North America.

I also want to share my gratitude for the work of Zoe Ozirney who will continue to help with administrative and organizational efforts within the NABF, and for the support of Shelby Gregg with whom I have worked for over 20 years.

I am particularly thankful for my wife Kerry, and in my retirement I am looking forward to spending time with her and with the rest of my family.

As I prepare to leave, I am delighted that Rev. Dr. TaNikka Sheppard is willing to engage the NABF as Acting General Secretary.”

Much has changed in the world since Jeremy began his work with the NABF in 2018. We are grateful for the ways in which he has helped navigate the challenging times of the pandemic, and for how he has helped to shape the leadership team to reflect the strong diversity that is within the NABF network.

It is our prayer that Jeremy will continue to experience the Providence of God in this new season of his life.

A search committee has been appointed to assist the NABF Executive Committee in finding the next General Secretary.

We solicit your prayers throughout this process.
