A neighbouring minister once commented to me that Sunday morning was an example of “coming together to worship apart.” Welcoming the newcomer, or for that matter anyone not familiar with our church gathering, challenges our willingness and ability to welcome others. This experience is not only so important for them spiritually, but for our own calling to invite people to meet God.

At Mill Bay Baptist Fellowship Jon Emanuel and his team created a “Visitor’s Plan” and sign up form called Plan Your Visit, which offers newcomers a service of selecting a customized experience for their first visit. This offering is truly remarkable, and I can say with a rare confidence that every single church in North America should follow this. Newcomers can choose from a number of options, including being met at the front door and having seats saved for them. Read more on their website.

We do things a little differently around here…

We know it can be a little awkward or even weird visiting a church for the first time…

That’s why we created Plan Your Visit.

When you sign up for Plan Your Visit, we’ll:

  •  meet you at the front door
  •  help you get your kids checked in
  •  introduce you around to a few people
  •  save you seats
  •  we’ll even sit with you if you want (so you don’t have to sit by yourself)

We want to make your first visit as easy as possible, and actually take time to get to know you and your family.

Pretty crazy idea, right?

Will you come hang out with us this Sunday?

Plan your visit now, and we will treat you like family from the moment you step foot on campus.

Click on the Plan Your Visit button below and schedule your visit this Sunday!

I hope their example of welcome is inspiring to you in your own communites.

Warmly,
In Christ,
Jeremy Bell
