A specific verse has come to my attention over the last week, which to me is a wonderful introduction to this new year with all its concerns and possibilities. Please receive it in these two different iterations, from The Message (v 9-10), and from the NIV.
9-10 So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith. (Galatians 6, The Message)
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6, NIV)
Indeed, may we not grow weary.
Welcome to the new year!
In Christ,
Jeremy Bell
